Problem

After upgrading to Loftware Print Server version 10.1.0.0, one field on the label no longer prints.  The Field name is "Version" (whether capitalized or not).

Explanation

After Loftware added the versioning feature, the variable name "Version" was made an alternate command for *VERSION by default. Any data in a field named "Version" is no longer treated as printable.

Solution

To resolve this issue a configuration change needs to be made.

  1. Locate the llmwdn32.ini file (Start | All Programs | Loftware Labeling | System Folders | Configuration).
  2. Open the llmwdn32.ini file in a text editor (Notepad).
  3. Use the "Find" to search for [CommandRemap] heading.
  4. If not found add a new line at the bottom with this value.
  5. Add another line under this heading that reads VERSION = <ALTERNATE_STRING> (recommend LWVERSION).
  6. Save the changes to the file.
  7. Restart the Loftware Print Server service .
