Description

The following describes how to copy the RBAC entries stored in PostgreSQL from one LWA server to another.

How to 

  1. On the source LWA server, open the "pgAdmin III" program.



  2. Enter the proper credentials to open the database.


  3. Expand "Databases" entry to display the "loftrbac" database.


  4. Expand the Schemas and Tables objects, and take note of the LWA tables that are there.


  5. Right mouse click on the "loftrbac" database, then select the "Backup" option.
     
     
  6. Enter a path and Filename to save the loftrbac backup.


  7. When the backup is complete, you will see messages regarding the objects that were backed up.


  8. Copy the database backup file from the source LWA server to the target LWA server.

  9. On the target LWA server, repeat steps 1 through 3 to open the "pgAdmin III" program.


  10. Right mouse click on the "loftrbac" database, then select the "Delete/Drop" option. Click "Yes" when asked if you are sure.



  11. On the "Databases" object, right click and select the "New Database" option.
     
     
  12. Name the new database "loftrbac", then hit the "OK" button.
     
     
  13. Expand the Schemas and Tables objects, and take note that there are no tables there.


  14. Right mouse click on the new "loftrbac" database, then select the "Restore" option.


  15. In the "Restore Database loftrbac" screen, select the proper database backup file copied from the source LWA server. Leave all options as shown below. Click "OK".
     

  16. When the restore is complete, you will see messages regarding the objects that were restored.


  17. You should now be able to expand the Schemas and see the LWA objects that were copied from the source LWA server's PostgreSQL database.
