Using the On-Demand Print Client on Win95/98/ME, the client never connects to the LPS, it just hangs and displays an hourglass, the user must end task to close it.


One possible solution

This problem may occur as in the following scenario:

  • A Microsoft Proxy is installed and enabled on the MS Exchange Server.
  • The Exchange Server, however, is connecting to the Internet through another proxy. (besides the Microsoft Proxy)
  • The Client PC is attempting to connect to the LPS on the Server using a Microsoft Proxy Client.
  • The connection cannot take place because the Server is not utilizing the Microsoft Proxy Server.

Remove the Microsoft Proxy Client from the Client PCs and the ODP Clients should begin working properly.
