Description

Can I append or otherwise alter files after they have been placed in the LPS (formerly WatchDog-NT) scan directory?

Solution

Once a file has been dropped into the LPS scan directory, the Loftware Print Server attempts to gain an exclusive lock on it, rendering it unalterable. As such, if you are using an application that appends or accesses the file(s) once they have been written, you need to configure the application to write the file(s) to a staging directory where they can be altered until the file is complete. Once the file is complete, the file(s) should be moved to the LPS scan directory for processing.
